Doctors and researchers are now finding that post-COVID complications can impact many different parts of the body, including the brain. According to Dr. J D Mukherji, head, neurology department, Max Healthcare, there at least 1-2 cases of neurological issues post recovery from COVID-19. “In the last one month, I have seen at least 20 cases of brain fog (confusion, inability to focus) in COVID-recovered patients. We have also come across 8 cases of Guillain-Barre Syndrome in which the immune system attacks the nerves and one of facial palsy or weakness of the facial muscles,” Mukherji said.
