Karnataka’s daily COVID-19 cases have dipped below 10,000 for the first time in 52 days, offering much-needed respite to frontline workers and citizens alike. The state reported 9,808 fresh cases yesterday, 2,028 of which were from Bengaluru. At 179, the state’s new fatalities on Tuesday was its lowest in 44 days. Bengaluru saw 44 deaths, a sharp drop from Monday’s 199. The catastrophic second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India may be finally on the decline. However, experts advise citizens not to drop their guard when it comes to COVID-19 guidelines.
